In order to further carry out the mental health education of college students effectively, understand and grasp the overall psychological status of students, assist students to understand themselves, and strengthen their mental health awareness。On October 20, the Mental health Education and Counseling Service Center of the Ministry of Student Affairs conducted a mental health survey of the freshmen of 2012 in the computer room of the basic experimental teaching Center of the School of Information Engineering。
To carry out mental health survey for all freshmen is an important part of our school's mental health education work. The counseling center will make detailed and thorough arrangements for the census process every year on the basis of previous experience。Two scales were still selected in this survey, but the specific scales were adjusted。Among them, the 90-item Self-Assessment of Symptoms (SCL-90) has not been changed, and the College Student Personality Questionnaire (UPI) used in previous years has been replaced by the Cattell 16 Personality Test for College Students (16PF).。This adjustment is to provide the counseling center with the mental health data of freshmen, but also to obtain more abundant normal data for students to understand themselves。The survey began from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a total of 4,400 people were tested throughout the day, although the workload was large, but the scene was orderly。The successful completion of the census is also thanks to the strong support of the School of Information Engineering and the full assistance of more than 20 student volunteers。
At present, the counseling center has begun to collate and analyze the census data, and next, the center will carry out various work of freshman mental health education according to the results of the census。
